In a second statement to Yahoo, Britney Spears’ manager Larry Rudolph reconfirmed the popstar is not going to perform at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.

“Contrary to media reports, Britney was never slated to perform on this year’s VMAs,” Larry said in his statement. “She’s in the middle of recording her next album, which is going amazingly well, and her focus remains on the studio.”

Ryan Seacrest read out an email (according to him, from Britney’s manager Larry Rudolph) on his KISS FM show this morning in which he said Larry replied the rumors started by E! that the popstar would be performing at the September 7 ceremony as “Just Wrong!”.

“Britney Spears will not be performing at the VMAs this year. I am telling you officially and unequivocally that BS will not be there,”, According to Seacrest, Rudolph also said that Britney is in the middle of recording her next studio album which is going well.
